this is for my little californian ppl who dream about Sea-Tac
If this was a movie the opening scene would be the drops of rain in a puddle; the image then leads to the view of Seattle's Roanoke Park There is no one just rain and the lonely surroundings. Little images of the town and rain continue with the background music of Sufjan Steven's song ''All the trees of the field will clap their hands''. This introduction can't help but evoke calmness as the rain is very soft and the music sweet and spiritual. The movie takes place in Capitol Hill Seattle which is the most crowed and dense neighborhood in town. It is considered the most ''Hip'' place in the whole of the city as it had a diverse culture and ambiance as it is the center of gay life, DIY mentality and the city's centre of counter culture. The irony is that this neighborhood also contains the city's grandest mansions and conventional environment but Capitol Hill's ''wildlife'' and ''liberation'' takes over the old world order of the past. Some of these houses and mansions have been abandoned and have become legends to the youth of Capitol Hill and their favorite hangout areas nearest to their homes. In Capitol Hill, most people ranged from average class or sometimes poor class. You would rarely see any rich kids hanging around. In that moment in time, specific places in Capitol were considered tough and the ''richest'' were certainly not welcome. The idea that the other neighborhoods have of Capitol Hill are very different depending who you're talking to. The kids (even the rebellious preps) all wanted to hang out there with the people they stereotyped as ''grungies'', ''Indies'',' liberals''. However a whole bunch of people like parents and up-tight virgin grammas loathed the place and described it as Seattle's trash can because of the open-mind-ness and the all the gay people who lives there. They also hated the place and forbid their kids there because of the drug influence. But then again, drugs could also be found on Aurora highway where you'd find whores who'd be found everywhere surrounding the cheap motels and fences. The reason it had this reputation was because you either had to accept the mentality and most preferably ''be in'' the mentality and not all people were welcome. You had to be either born there or you had to earn you're place there. People were welcoming but didn't tolerate condescendence or superiority. If you got on the people's good side, you were part of them but if you weren't you were screwed.
afterall its not that exeptional but hey, i can't deny my background
